Hotels in Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur, France

Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur stretches from the Mediterranean Sea to the French Alps, with hot, dry summers perfect for swimming along the Riviera's sandy beaches, and cool winters great for skiing in the Alps (temps range from 32°F/0°C in winter to 86°F/30°C in summer). The coast is known for glitzy cities like Cannes and Saint-Tropez, while inland Provence offers lavender fields that bloom in July-you can hike between purple rows or bike through hilltop villages like Gordes. In summer, you can kayak the turquoise Calanques near Marseille, or in winter, try snowboarding at Pra-Loup ski resort-both seasons offer budget-friendly hostels if you book ahead.
